The land custodian or Tindaana of Baare in the Talensi district of the Upper East region has refuted rumors that New Patriotic Party (NPP) stalwarts led by chairman Wontumi came to him for spiritual consultation.

The Tindaana is the land custodian and by tradition, the gate-keeper of the Talensi Traditional area. This makes him one of the key traditional heads.

Chairman Wontumi and other NPP members paid a courtesy call on the Tindaana of Baare a few days ago as part of their preparations towards the by-election in the Talensi constituency and as tradition demands, they had to take off their shirts before they could enter the premises of the land custodian.

However photos of the NPP members went viral on social media with some people claiming that they had gone there to perform rituals.

But speaking to Joy News, the Tindaana of Baare expressed shock at the turn of events.
