LG Electronics this weekend released another set of its innovative products in Air-Conditioner genre of home appliances. Tagged GenCool Invertor, the product is expected to bail all African countries out of the harsh climate condition and inability to effectively use air-conditioners due to poor power supply.

This is because in producing the product, LG said, it took these situations into consideration and therefore made it possible to operate effectively with the lowest capacity generators found among low-income earners.

The new invertor air-conditioner is also set to be truly Eco-friendly spotting refrigerant-R410A.

General Manager of Air-Conditioning and Energy solutions, LG Electronics West Africa Operations, Mr. Junhwa Jeong said in Accra at the Launch Event of the product that Ghana remains a sensitive market in Africa and needs to be given preference.

Mr. Jeong said this air-conditioner would meet the demand of the customers who wish to use air-conditioners in Ghana with small capacity generators.

He said in addition to previous products like Plasma, Titan AVS, Mosquito Away air-conditioners among others in the market, the GenCool invertor air-conditioner is a new energy efficient solution that allows 1 hp air-conditioner to run on small capacity generator of 0.9 kva with Gen mode on and at normal mode it runs on 1.5 kva where as a conventional air-conditioner requires more than 3.5 kva.

He mentioned that LG’s innovative product function well despite erratic power supply or in extreme outdoor temperatures.

Surprisingly the air-conditioner features an upgraded power circuit board (PCB) and corrosion resistant technology that ensure greater operational longevity. The GenCool invertor also provides a strong dependable cooling system.

The Executive Director of Somotex Ghana limited, Mr Nii Ayi Hyde, said the product offers LG’s invertor control technology which saves electricity up to 40% and reduces the voltage necessary for startup and reliable op350 operational range.

It also enables the GenCool mode to cope with power surges of up to 500V. Meanwhile the double powder coating and platinum Fin Protect the compressor from wear and corrosion, which in turn contributes to great operational longevity.
