WA Adjudged Neatest Regional Capital

Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, Alhaji Collins Dauda, has adjudged Wa, the Upper West regional capital, as the neatest municipality in the country.

Ho, the Volta regional capital had earlier been known for its neatness but the general scene along the streets of Wa on Collins Dauda’s recent visit revealed that the municipality merits the status of being adjudged the neatest.

The presence of leaders from the various political parties who came together in their paraphernalia to take part in the 8th National Sanitation Day (NSD) campaign clean-up exercise made it an interesting one.

The leaders who spoke to the DAILY GUIDE averred “that though we are members of different political parties”, the exercise for them was significant.

Ghana Private Road Transport Union (GPRTU) Industrial Relations Officer, Alhaji Nuhu Mahama, who charged his members to park their vehicles till the exercise was over, reiterated the importance of the exercise, saying that a clean environment promotes economic viability.

The Local Government and Rural Development minister commended the people of Wa for the high level of neatness of the municipality.
