Audio: Woyongo Defends NDC With Violence Begets Violence' Statement

Violent clashes left several political figures injured while properties were also destroyed after some members of the two main political parties attacked each other in Talensi during yesterday's by-election.

In the aftermath of the unfortunate incident, the Interior Minister Mark Woyongo, jumped to the defence of vigilante groups, Azorka boys and Bolga Bulldogs who were involved in the Talensi clashes, describing their actions as a pure case of “violence begets violence.”

“Violence begets violence. Azoka boys will not act violent if they were not provoked. The other side also brought in some people…the Invincible Forces and then the Bolga Boys, so violence begets violence.

“What I mean is that if you are a peace lover and someone comes to attack you, definitely you have to protect yourself”, Mark Woyongo remarked on Kumasi based Ultimate Radio.

The First Vice Chairperson of the NPP, Freddie Blay was also attacked in the process and narrated the entire story to United Television.

Speaking on the development, the Minister explained that violence from one political party sparked reprisal attacks staged by boys from Azorka’s camp.
