"Bolga Bulldogs" Not Officially Known By The NPP - John Boadu

Interior Minister, Mark Woyongo might soon legalize activities of politically motivated vigilante groups, 'Azorka Boys' of the NDC and 'Bolga Bulldogs' of the opposition NPP.

That may sound good for these groups whose activities have been characterized by viciousness over the years and in recent times.

These groups [Azorka Boys, Bolga Bulldogs, Invisible Forces] have been accused of perpetrating violent crimes during the just ended Talensi by-election in the Upper East Region.

They clashed openly in the presence of armed military and police personnel yet no arrest has been made - former President Jerry John Rawlings has also called for some of the members of these groups to be arrested and prosecuted but the Interior Minister believes their activities should rather be regulated.

But National Organizer of the opposition party, John Boadu, has described as "unfortunate", attempts to associate the “Bolga Bulldogs”, with the New Patriotic Party.

In an interview with NEAT FM on "Ghana Montie" morning show, ‘Uncle JB’ as affectionately called in politics maintained that – “The group [Bolga Bulldogs] is not officially known by the party [NPP]. They don’t operate for the party.”

However, he admitted that the group – “had issued series of press releases claiming to have a link with the NPP, but we don’t know them”.
