Police Place Injunction On Anti-Mahama Demo

The Volta Regional Police Command has placed an injunction on a plan demonstration in the region by a group calling itself disappointed Youth of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

The protest was to among other things expressed their displeasure about the Mahama-led administration neglect of especially the youth in their suppose World Bank.

The police citing the volatile security situation in the region secured a court order to stop the demonstration slated for Tuesday, July 12, 2015. But Chairman of the Group, Robert Tetteyfoi Adjase has fingered the Regional Minister, Helen Ntoso of being behind the action taken by the police.

“We know the Regional Minister is the master tactician because she believes the demonstration will disgrace government” he told Accra-based Oman FM Tuesday. Mr. Tetteyfoi Adjase expressed shock at the conduct of the police who according to him are not being professional in the discharge of their duties. “We were called for a meeting after the police had granted us permission only to hear they had place an injunction on the demonstration which is unacceptable” he stressed.

He said they have incurred a lot of debt due to the action of the police but we have decided to comply with the court order.

Mr. Tetteyfoi Adjase however warned the police will face their wrath if they try to stop them if they choose another date for the demonstration.
