Adhere To Islamic Values & Doctrines�Joyce Bawa Tells Muslims

Deputy Transport Minister, Joyce Bawa Mogtari, has tasked Muslims nationwide to continue to adhere to the teachings of the Holy Quran, in all their endeavors, in order to achieve their goals.

Mrs. Bawa Mogtari, who is particularly concerned about the values and doctrines of Islam, also appealed to the teeming Muslims to use this period of fasting to renew their faith in the Almighty Allah.

According to her, the only way for this country to move forward is, when all religious groupings continue to respect each other’s practices and beliefs to ensure a peaceful coexistence across the country.

She said, religion was a very beautiful thing and for that matter, there was the need to throw more light on the importance of it and educate others.

The Minister, made these remarks when she presented various quantities of food items worth GH¢18000 cedis to various Muslim communities in the Ayawaso Central Constituency in Accra.

The items, which included 70 bags of rice, 50 cartons of cooking oil, 50 cartons of tin tomatoes, 60 boxes of spaghetti and others was received by the leaderships of the Muslims.

The Minister, also charged Muslim parents to see it as a necessity to invest in the education of their children, adding that, it is the surest way to secure the future of their wards.

She noted that, for some time now the focus was on the girl child education thereby forgetting about the boys. However, she said it is about time we take this girl-child education “holistically”.

The non-partisan ceremony which was attended by the representatives of all Muslim communities within Kotobabi, Alajo, New-town and its surrounding areas, attracted huge crowd and was extensively covered by journalists from distinguished media houses in the city.
