The Bolgatanga Municipal Coordinator of the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO), Mr Timothy Anaab has appealed to Parliament and other state agencies to as a matter of urgency pass the NADMO bill into law.
He said speedy passage of the law would empower NADMO to enforce the laws to the letter where necessary so that it could pre-empt and prevent the series of disasters that has engulfed the country in recent times.
Mr Anaab made the call during the 8th national cleanup exercise in the Bolgatanga Municipality where the Regional Coordinating Council and the Bolgatanga Municipal Assembly collaborated to clean up the Regional Capital, Bolgatanga.
Mr Edward Ayagle, Bolgatanga Municipal Chief Executive appealed to estate developers to acquire the right permits from the right agencies when putting up structures, warning that the assembly would punish anybody found guilty of putting properties at the wrong places.
