Second Lady Does Not Know What Poverty Is . (AUDIO)

Second Lady, Matilda Amissah-Arthur has come under serious flak after her now controversial ‘I won’t give you chalk today, I won't give you chalk tomorrow’ comment.

Many have wondered why she made that comment knowing that it is government’s responsibility to provide teaching and learning materials for public schools.

Reacting to her remarks on PEACE FM's morning show ‘Kokrokoo’, John Boadu, National Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) alluded that the Second Lady made those comments because she has not experienced poverty.

“I don’t blame the second lady because that is her understanding…she sees the prize of a box of chalk as something small and cheap and it might be because of her background. It is not her fault…she has no idea of the poverty people are going through. But this is a responsibility of government…” he said.
