I'd Have Been Killed If I Had Dared Attack Mahama - Koku Anyidoho

Deputy General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Koku Anyidoho has denied that he was ‘the bull’ around late President John Evans Atta Mills who was preventing everyone, including then Vice President John Dramani Mahama from getting in touch with the President.

According to the then aide to the late Professor, he never attacked John Mahama as was been speculated by persons in his party, the NDC.

“It is vile propaganda…I was fine feed for the sharks then…,” he said on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen Monday.

The personal aide to late President was said to be a form of tiger around him and prevented then Vice President John Dramani Mahama and persons who held allegiance to him from getting in touch with President Mills.

Various reports indicated that he even launched attacks on then Vice President and persons who sought access to the President had to seek his approval.

Thus on the death of the President Mills, it was reported variously that Koku Anyidoho could never reconcile with the current President due to the ‘wicked treatment meted out to him’.

But all these, Koku said were ‘vile propaganda’ aimed at getting the late Mills to sack him from the Presidency.

“I never attacked the then vice President…how could I have done that, he was always walking with guards and if I even dared, they would have killed me before telling President Mills that I attacked the Vice President…,” he said.

According to him, he always accorded the needed respected to the ‘President’s choice’ and hence considered the rumours as ‘gutter stuff’.

Koku further revealed that President Mills told him of several persons who had reported him to the President and was demanding his sack.

“But the President never was bothered about that since he knew those reports were never in his interest…,” he said.

He added that he is still proud of every action he undertook while working to protect the President.
