We Need Specific Answers To Specific Problems NPP Aspirant

A Tema Central parliamentary aspirant of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr Ramseyer Agyeman-Prempeh, has called for a national debate on how to improve the economic and industrial fortunes of the Tema Metropolis.

“The residents of Tema are yearning for the kind of life they know, and they are well aware of the fact that the tragedy of Tema is a national tragedy and that the triumph of Tema is a national triumph.’’

In an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA), Mr Agyeman-Prempeh said the people of Tema had not had the opportunity to be part of any discussion on how best to revive the fishing, maritime, industrial and other economic activities associated with the metropolis, adding, ”I want to initiate that dialogue.”

“We need specific answers to specific problems. I don’t believe in a ’one-size-fits-all approach’ when it comes to development. Tema is unique and should be seen as such”, he said.

Mr Agyeman-Prempeh, who is an entrepreneur, is among the third batch of contestants seeking an NPP parliamentary ticket for the 2016 election.

“I am a former constituency chairman and have twice failed to win the party primaries. I have been around for some time politically and I am now well prepared to serve my people. I am asking the delegates of Tema Central to give me the ticket to win the seat and represent the people who are yearning for a dedicated mind, heart and voice in Parliament.

“I want to contribute to the making of equitable laws, hold the executive accountable on issues of public expenditure, due diligence on public loans and their uses and foreign policies that foster international solidarity and development,” he said.
