The Ashanti Regional Police Command has cautioned the general public to be wary of a syndicate of suspected armed robbers posing as taxi drivers who ply various routes in the Ahodwo and Santasi areas.

According to Deputy Ashanti Regional Police Commander, ACP Ampofo Duku, the suspected robbers usually pick passengers and divert from the normal routes that lead to the destinations of the passengers, using traffic avoidance as pretence.

 The drivers then pick up their accomplices along the way to carry out their nefarious operations. 

He disclosed that about three of such cases had been reported in the past few weeks around the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital area in Kumasi.
