Naa Torshie Won The Primaries For Me; She Made Me Very Popular - Carlos Ahenkora

Newly elected New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament aspirant for the Tema West Constituency, Carlos Ahenkorah says he owes his victory partly to the fierce contest put up by the incumbent MP, Hon. Irene Naa Torshie Addo.

According to the businessman, the rivalry between him and the outgoing MP for Tema West, Hon Naa Torshie Addo during their campaign made him popular before the delegates as she made every effort to oust him from the contest.

Speaking on Oman Fm’s "National Agenda" Morning Show, Carlos Ahenkorah indicated the approach and the determination by the incumbent to go unopposed somewhat resulted in both delegates and NPP activists across the country becoming sympathetic to his cause.

I must say that Irene Naa Torshie Addo made me popular in this race when she decided to approach the campaign with a strong ambition to oust me from the race. I received calls from all over the country, encouraging me to keep up the quest to stand for the party in Tema West,” he revealed.

To him, Hon. Naa Torshie Addo is a good woman with the NPP at heart stressing “I know God will touch her to overcome the pain and she will join us to march for victory in 2016”.

Carlos Ahenkorah however implored the NPP rank and file he might have offended during the lead-up to the contest to forgive him.

Whoever I have offended in this race should forgive me as I have also forgiven those who have wronged me; I don’t even remember that some of our MPs supported my little sister [Naa Torshie] in this race against me….let’s move on and put the past behind as we prepare for the main battle in 2016,” he urged.
