Junior Doctors' Frustrations Raise Security Concerns...It's No Joke - Kabila

A former National Youth Organiser of the Convention People's Party (CPP), James Kwabena Bomfeh Jnr. has called on President John Dramani Mahama to direct his Chief of Staff to address the concerns of the country's junior doctors.

Making his submissions on "Kokrokoo" on Peace FM, James Kwabena Bomfeh also called Kabila asserted that since the President has taken a 7-day leave, he should give directives to his Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah, Labour Relations Minister Haruna Iddrisu and Health Minister Alex Segbefia to work on his behalf and ensure that the junior doctors get the right response.

Junior doctors in the country were prevented from entering the Controller and Accountant General Department (CAGD) after they planned to occupy it because they have not been paid for 10 months.

It irked the doctors that the Controller and Accountant General seem to sit unperturbed about their wellbeing.

They were however prevented by about 200 Police personnel from entering the department and the action has since courted controversy in the public domain.

The doctors are deemed to be the holders of human life.

Addressing the issue on "Kokrokoo", Kabila noted that the doctor's concerns and frustrations threaten the security of the nation.

He called on the major State authorities and the National Security Adviser Baba Kamara not to treat it as a joke.

“This is the crisis that the President can use as a basis to even recall his holiday or wherever he is, Mr. President; give a directive to your Chief of Staff. Give a directive to Minister for Health; give a directive to the Minister for Labour Relations. National Security Adviser, this is a security matter. You cannot joke with it.”

President John Mahama has taken a 7-day leave beginning Monday, July 27.
