I Am Prepared To Face Off With Hackman In Court - Daily Post Editor

The Managing Editor of the Daily Post newspaper, Michael Dokosi, says he is ready to face off with former minister for Water Resources Works and Housing in court over the law suit against the newspaper.

Hackman Owusu Agyeman has sued three individuals, including the pro-National Democratic Congress (NDC) newspaper editor, for libel in connection with the recent purported leaked tape of a meeting held at former President John Agyekum Kufuor's residence.

According to reports, the former minister is seeking Ȼ5 million aggravated damages from Haruna Mahama, an NPP activist; Michael Dokosi, managing editor of Daily Post newspaper and Giraffe Publications Limited, publishers of Daily Post.

Although he has not been served with the suit, Michael Dokosi says he is prepared to face off with Hackman Owusu Agyeman because he had done no wrong.

In an interview with TOP news’ Osahene Kwame Dapaah Asare on Thursday, Michael Dokosi stated that the he was not the author of the said story in question but only picked it from the face book wall of the NPP activist Haruna Mahama.

He said the Facebook walls of important personalities have become a source of news for media practitioners in Ghana and elsewhere around the world, and so he has done no wrong in picking and publishing the story in his newspaper.

“We only reported what Haruna Mahama, a member of the NPP has said, it is not as if we are saying it,” he said.
