Any Person That Attempts To Harm The President, "Mad or Not"; Must Face The Law - Karbo

Deputy Director of Communications of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Anthony Karbo has condemned the alleged assassination attempt on President John Dramani Mahama.

According to him, any person who attempts to harm the President of the Republic should face the full rigors of the law.

He noted that whether sane or insane, no one has the ultimate right to claim the life of the President and so, called on the President's security detail to safeguard him.

“We’re all comfortable if the President is protected…Any person who wants to harm the number one or the President of the Republic; that person must face the full rigors of the law. So for me, first of all [Kwami], I think that we must condemn any attempt or intention by any Ghanaian or foreigner who wants to hurt or assassinate our President.”

He said on Peace FM's "Kokrokoo" that President John Mahama is an "embodiment of national security."

“Everybody in Ghana has condemned it. We have condemned this activity that occurred, whether the person is mentally sane but any attempt on the President’s life must be completely condemned. It must be completely condemned. We shouldn’t entertain it. Not only the President alone; any attempt on the life of any citizen…because it’s the duty of government to protect all of us.”
