�Stop Politicizing Dev�t Projects�

2012 parliamentary candidate of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Ga South Constituency of the Greater Accra region, Madam Obuobia Darko-Opoku, has called on residents in the municipality to desist from the habit of politicising social and infrastructure development programmes and projects in the area.

The continuous politicisation of the development programmes and projects, Madam Darko-Opoku, who doubles as the deputy Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Ghana Free Zone Board, stressed has the tendency to destabilise the economic and industrial fortunes of Ga South municipality.

Addressing residents during a community durbar to announce the commencement of a road project at Mandela Asbread near New Weija in Accra, the former worker of Radio Gold called on the residents in the area to come together and support the chiefs and stakeholders to bring about development in the area.

She noted that series of meetings she held with the chiefs, Ga South Municipal Assembly and stakeholders, before the commencement of Mandela Asbread road in New Weija showed that the project was one of the priorities of the people and urged the residents to support the contractor to ensure its early completion.

She assured residents of her preparedness to continue to work closely with the Assembly to ensure rapid transformation of Ga South municipality by implementing pragmatic projects and activities that would inure to the benefit of the people, noting that what was important was for the people to support her and the Assembly.

The young and determined resident of Ga South municipality made it clear that she and the staff of the Assembly were working hard to ensure that the numerous social and infrastructure development programmes and projects being implemented reflected positively in the lives of the people.

Madam Darko-Opoku also urged the people to have confidence in the leadership of the Assembly and her as better days were ahead.

She also asked the people in the municipality to live in peace with one another at all times.
