A debate over the correct way to wear earrings is raging over Facebook after a man posted that you should remove the plastic backing from ear studs before they are worn.
Joseph Ayoub wrote: 'After my 19 years of living, I have now realised you're supposed to take the plastic part off.'
More than 71,575 people have 'liked' the post, with 10,000 users weighing in on the discussion, including a huge number of women insisting that you are meant to keep the plastic on to protect your ears.
