President John Dramani Mahama has said he does not believe his life is in danger after one Charles Antwi confessed in open court that he had taken a gun to the President’s church to kill him.

In his first public comment on the matter, the President was very confident his security team is capable of protecting him but was also said he believes God will make sure he is absolutely safe.

“No weapon fashioned against me shall prosper,” the President quoted from the scripture. But speaking on an Accra based Uniiq FM, the President who appeared unperturbed by the development maintained he is under the protection of the Almighty God who will protect him from any harm.

Many have since questioned the level of security around the President but he insisted, “God is my protector.” Charles Antwi has been jailed 10 years after he pleaded guilty to the charges proferred against him.

The President said Mr Antwi just like other Ghanaians may not be happy with all decisions taken by the government, hence his attempted attack.
