Mr Kwesi Nyantakyi, President of the FA has announced that the Association would soon establish the Live your goals campaign for girls in schools and communities as part of its ongoing efforts to expand the interests in womens football in the country. As part of our ongoing efforts to expand the interest and participation rate in womens football as well as to develop the footballing skills of girls from young a young age, we will establish the Live Your Goals Campaign for girls in schools and communities, he said. Mr Nyantakyi announced this in Tamale on Tuesday at the extra-ordinary congress of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) where he (Nyantakyi) was re-elected unopposed as the FA President to serve another four year term. Mr Nyantakyi went unopposed after the other contestants, Ofeibia Ramatu and George Ankomah, failed to submit their nominations before the stipulated deadline. He said the FA would tap the expertise of the giant women football countries on the implementation of a long term plan, which aimed at enhancing the development of womens football in Ghana as well as working hard to improve standards. He said the FA would also start the process of getting the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence operational to ensure that the National U-17 players were honed at the academy in Prampram from an early age. The FA he said would continue with its new measures of improving the colts leagues and youth football such as the free training courses for coaches of colts clubs and would at the same time encourage Premier and division One League clubs to entrench themselves into the U-17 leagues to churn out more talents. He said there was the need to explore insurance and pension schemes for players in the local league to ensure that players were stayed longer in the local leagues while the full implementation of the Club Licensing System for clubs in the top two tiers of Ghana football would help raise standards in all aspect of the game. Mr Nyantakyi the FA would continue to support and work closely with all aspects of the game by giving more training to administrators, coaches, referees, medics and the media to fulfill its footballing objectives and that the development of football infrastructure would remain key in his third term administration. He appealed to all to put the past behind and join hands to develop sports in the country saying, I want to speak to everybody, whether you supported my candidacy or not to make Ghana a stronger football country, I will need your support, and I promise I will work to earn it.
