Postpone Akwatia Election- Ofosu Ampofo

The Eastern Regional Minister, Samuel Ofosu Ampofo, has said that it will be in the right direction for the Akwatia election to be postponed. This is as a result of several brutalities inflicted on some supporters of both ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) and opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) parties contesting for the MP seat in the re-run elections. However, the Regional Minister insisted that if it is postponed it will help ease tension for all within the constituency before the elections can be held again in peace. Continuing with his reactions, he emphatically stated that, if the Akwatia Election is to take place in peaceful atmospheres which exist in the country at the moment, then as such the Electoral Commission should listen to the recommendation made by the Regional Security Council (REGSEC) to postpone the election.
