Pratt: Leave Us Alone-We Are Hungry

The Managing Editor of the Insight newspaper, Mr Kwasi Pratt has expressed worry and disappointment in the two leading political parties in the country, NPP and NDC for their conduct in the Akwatia re-run elections. He was reacting to the reported violence in the area, which compelled the government to impose curfew on the people in the township. He described their conduct as shameful and a disgrace to the countrys democracy. According to Mr. Pratt, both parties should bow their heads in shame for bringing hardship onto the country through their irresponsible acts. He said, both parties have brought hunger and insecurity into the country "yet they would not allow us to have our peace". He made this known on Peace FMs show, Kokrokoo this morning, August 18, 2009 when he was asked by the host, Tweneboah Koduah to share his view on the current situation in the Akwatia constituency. We are hungry yet they wont allow us to have peace, he lamented. He went on to say, that the two parties are manipulating the youth and leading them in the wrong direction by teaching them violence. He lashed out, leave us alone, we are tired of you, give us a break. He appealed to the people of Akwatia to let peace prevail in the area and urged the youth not to allow themselves to be used by politicians for their own selfish reasons. He said, If you die, they will live to enjoy with their families when they come to power.
