Monitor Your Childs Academic Performance - Deborah Antwi

The proprietress of Brilliant Child Academy at Akyem Enyiresi in the Atiwa district of the Eastern Region, Deborah Antwi has advised parents not to only be interested in paying the children and wards’ school fees and other needed school items, but also be interested in their academic performance.

She said more often than not, most parents tried to spend much money on their wards by providing everything needed for their studies but failed to monitor the progress of their wards at school.

Mrs. Antwi sated this at the school’s annual get-together popularly referred to as ‘our day’ where teachers, parents and school children interact and dine.

According to her, education is the greatest investment one could give to the child, but if proper monitoring and care is not taken, the investment could go waste.

“The aim and expectation of every investor is to make profit of his or her investment, so parents should also make sure their wards’ education become profitable,” she stressed.

She also urged parents to encourage their wards to give off their best but not to subject them to beating and insult when they perform below expectation.

The proprietress further called on both parents and teachers to co-ordinate properly to enable them access the performance of their children, their capabilities and interest.

The Brilliant Academy is a private basic institution which admits children as old as a year.
