NDC Begs Nana Konadu

The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Party (NDP), Agya Owusu, says the leadership of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) is desperately trying to convince Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings to come back to their fold, but she has rejected all those overtures.

We are aware of all the moves being made by the NDC, including sending the President’s brother to plead with Mrs. Rawlings,” Agya Owusu said on Kessben FM in Kumasi recently.

According to the NDP Regional Chairman, Mrs. Rawlings is not ready to rejoin the NDC, which he said, now swims in corruption, nepotism and incompetence.

He argued that the ruling NDC has become a trade mark of create, loot and share among their cronies, stressing that Mrs. Rawlings can never be part of that family.

The NDP Regional Boss observed that when former President Rawlings and his wife fought hard to establish the NDC, it was based on principles of probity and accountability but these qualities, according to him, have been relegated to the background by the President Mahama-led administration.

According to him, the major preoccupation of Mrs. Rawlings now is to strengthen the grassroots base of the NDP and build a solid foundation ahead of the 2016 elections.

Agya Owusu, therefore, urged Ghanaians to disregard the propaganda of the NDC who go round spreading rumours about the return of the former First Lady.

Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings has no intention of joining the NDC and that I can assure you,” he stated.
