Food For All Ghana Launch "Share Your Breakfast" Community Service

The Convener and Founder of food recovery organization called “Food for All Ghana Campaign”, Chef Elijah Amoo Addo, has launched a community volunteering program called “Share your Breakfast”.

According to him, the program is aimed at encouraging Ghanaians to volunteer in feeding the vulnerable whilst reducing food wastage in Ghana.

Launching the agenda on August 30, 2015 at the Accra Psychiatric Hospital, Chef Amoo Addo said the “Share your breakfast” community project will every weekend go across markets, churches, communities and deprived organizations to educate and feed people with recovered food.

“The project also will give opportunity to corporate bodies to sell their products and brands at the various locations where the food will be served. Individuals and corporate bodies can also sign to our four months intensive practical community service and philanthropy studies where they are introduced into philanthropy studies and volunteering every weekend”, he explained.

He maintained that the idea is born out of the West Africa food for All campaign, as a food recovery organization with the vision of building food banks across West Africa to create sustainable means of nutrition, encouraging volunteerism and introducing a new model of marketing for corporate bodies called “direct philanthropy sales”.

Chef Amoo Addo added that “Food for All campaign” has for the past six years been recovering food that goes waste along the food supply chain to feed the less privileged and vulnerable in Ghana through their feast of hope project which has been feeding over 50,000 less privileged on UN World food days.

He has therefore outlined that he and his team after the launch on Sunday will be at the Makola market and Osu children’s home on every Saturday and Sunday respectively to carry out the noble course.
