It started as a rumor � then with his posters going viral on social media � but now the Accra Metropolitan Chief Executive, Alfred Oko Vanderpuije has taken a bold step to pick his nomination form to contest the Parliamentary seat of the Ablekuma South constituency.

The constituency located on the southern coast of Accra with traditional areas such as, Korle Gono, Mamprobi, Banana Inn, Gleffe, Akoto Lante and some part of Dansoman is a place where Dr. Vanderpuije is very familiar with, having grown up there.

The seat is currently occupied by the NDC�s Fritz Baffour - but it is believed that he will not be contesting the seat again.

Oko picked up his form at the constituency office in Mamprobi � suburb in Accra amidst drumming and dancing by his large supporters.
