The First Vice President of the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA), Kaakyire Kwame Appiah has described the President of the union, Bice Osei Kuffour popularly known as Obour as mentally immature.

According to him, Obuor still needs mentoring so that he can competently run the affairs of MUSIGA.

“Obour is still a child irrespective of his educational background and his position as the president for MUSIGA and should be mentored. I expect that the elderly ones among us in the executive position like Bessa Simons will advise him to make the right decisions but that has not been the case. He (Bessa Simons) is rather encouraging Obour to do things that are in contravention of the laws of the union’ Kaakyire Kwame Appiah has declared.

Speaking on Hitz FM, the musician who has now branched into Acting and Producing, expressed disappointment that Obour has sidelined him from the day to administration of the union.

The 24th Hit maker who at a point could not hide his frustration about the issue challenged the popularity of Obour and stated that he is confident that he is capable of giving Obour a stiff opposition should he (Kaakyire Kwame Appiah) decide to challenge him in an election.

“I concede that I am less educated as compared to Obour but manning the affairs of MUSIGA is not only about education” he confidently stated.

Kaakyire further questioned why MUSIGA has not been able to purchase a set of musical instruments of their own after receiving Ghs 2 million from government in 2011 part of which was meant for that.

He also rubbished claims by the president of MUSIGA that part of the said money was used for research and challenged them to make public the kind of research they did and also publish the findings they had from the research.

Meanwhile, the Treasurer for the Musicians Union of Ghana, Oheneba Kissi says MUSIGA needs “communicators with common sense” to talk on its behalf rather than the current crop of persons, some of whom he describes as having “infantile minds.”

His comments follow allegations from the Second Vice President of MUSIGA, Bessa Simons that both Oheneba Kissi and Kaakyire Kwame Appiah have abandoned their duties as executives of the union.

‘It is too early in the morning and I don’t want to descend into the gutters but I think such comments can only come from infantile minds’ he told listeners of the Hitz FM show.
