Prez Mahama Picks Forms Today

President John Dramani Mahama is expected to pick his nomination forms today, September 3, to seek reelection in the November 7 primary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

The leader of the ruling party is expected to do so at the party’s headquarters in Adabraka at 1300GMT.

President Mahama will be the second member of the NDC to pick presidential forms though George Boateng’s gesture on Monday has ruffled feathers within the top echelons of the party.

Boateng’s forms are said to be without executive seal.

President Mahama is expected to be accompanied with pomp and circumstance on Thursday, when he goes to pick his forms at GH¢1,000.

He will be received by General Secretary Johnson Asiedu Nketia.

This will be the second time the president does this within the NDC after doing so – and subsequently running unopposed – in 2012.

Presidential aspirants will file their forms at a fee of GH¢50,000.
