If ever, you harboured the thought that some mysterious “gang” in the opposition New Patriotic Party [NPP] is working against the party’s presidential candidate to lose election 2016 – then you must think again.

According to the Managing Editor of the Al-Hajj Newspaper, Alhaji Bature – The NPP’s flagbearer is his own enemy within the ‘Elephant’ fraternity.

He stated bluntly on NEAT FM’s morning show "Ghana Montie" that – “Nana Addo himself doesn’t want to be the president of Ghana!”

Bature explained that – “As a flagbearer of a party, your first objective is to get the support from all your party members, secondly is to rope your floating members into the party, thirdly…is to be able to penetrate your opponent camp to get people to vote for you.”

“The questions is, is Nana Addo doing all these?” he queried and quickly answered – “I don’t see that”.

The Al-Hajj newspaper editor accused Nana Addo of bring division in the party rather than unity after taking over the baton from Ex-President Kufour to lead the NPP.

“Since his [Nana Addo] tenure as NPP leader, it’s a sad departure of what J.A Kufour and Adu Boahene laid. We are not seeing the strength of unity in Nana Addo like what we saw in Kufour [Ex Prez]” he opined.

Bature further maintained that – it’s unfortunate that two of NPP’s national executives [Paul Afoko and Kwabena Agyapong] are tagged as Nana Addo’s destructors – “No one hates Nana in the NPP, he is his own enemy and destroyer. Why would you be a flagbearer and attack your National Chairman and General Secretary?”

“People are giving Nana Addo bad counsel” Alhaji Bature asserted.
