Pastor Takes Peace Campaign To Burkina-Faso, Mali

A distinguished man of God who doubled as 'Peace and Development Advocate’ has embarked on tens of thousands kilometer one-man campaign across the West Africa, to promote “Peace, Tolerance, Democratic and Development”.

Rev. Dr. Godwin Davids is currently around the Burkina-Faso border returning, after taking the campaign to other places like Ouagadougou, Mali and over hundred towns and villages along the eastern corridors of the sub-region.

The respected man of God whose message is peace and tolerance should prevail in African, embarked on the three weeks trip using a Nissan Cube, with registration number GT-608-12.

With inscription bold written in English and French, “We Are Africans” …“Nous Sommes Africains” which was pasted on the car, the highly spirited Man of God embarked on the campaign alone.

The Development Advocate preacher started his campaign from the Northern, Upper East and Upper West Region, Ouagadougou, the capital of Burkina Faso and some communities in the outskirts of Mali, where he temporarily ended it.

Rev. Dr. Davids told The Herald the reason for embarking on the campaign is to ensure “peculiar needs of people in the region is addressed and also the need to promote the interest as well as the welfare of every citizen on the continent”.

According to him, there is the need to promote African unity through “peace, tolerance and diversity among the people of Africa for the development of the continent”.

Rev. Dr. Davids who is also a preacher and poet stressed, African can be developed when interest of farmers is promoted since “agriculture is important to the economic development of Sub Sahara Africa”.

He hinted The Herald that the second phase stage of his campaign will take him to Yendi, Bimbilla, Damago in the northern and move to Wa and Tumu in the Upper West region and stop at Ivory Coast.

According to Rev. Dr. Davids, high on the agenda for his next campaign is crusade against the third term bid of all African Leaders. He said he would prepare posters with the slogan, ‘Say No To Third Term Mandate’ which will be put on his car during the tour.
