NDC Presidential Primaries: Mahamas Rival Is A Serious Man - Amoako Baah

Whereas the entire ruling NDC National Executives have tagged Mr. George Boateng as a “Mentally disabled” person for declaring his intention to contest President John Dramani Mahama in the party’s November 7 primaries – a Political Science lecturer says he is a “Serious” person.

According to Dr. Richard Amoako Baah who lectures at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), he had earlier assumed George was just seeking attention – “but my mindset has changed towards him” – he believes George is making some “reasonable” arguments against his party leadership.

Dr. Richard Amoako Baah further noted that – the NDC's efforts to get rid of him [George Boateng] not to contest the president is a deliberate attempt – “The NDC had wanted President Mahama to go unopposed but that didn’t happen”.

“When it started, I thought the man [George Boateng] seeking to contest President Mahama was not a serious person but his comments have made me change my mind,” He added in an interview with Kasapa FM.

The political lecturer maintained that he is against the legalization of marijuana by the NDC’s presidential hopeful - “What he said which has overshadowed all the good things he has espoused is about legalizing marijuana. At first I thought he was not serious but his banter with Asiedu Nketiah means he is serious and not just talking.”
