Mahamas Contender To Pick Another Form On Monday

To indicate his seriousness in challenging the President to the highest seat of the land, George Boateng, a former Youth Organiser at the Oyarifa Branch of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) says he would be heading to the party’s headquarters on Monday, 7th September, 2015 to pick another Presidential form.

President John Mahama’s challenger had earlier picked his forms on Monday, but the party insists he was issued the wrong form which has turned out to be a draft copy of the original forms.

The General Secretary of the Party, Johnson Asiedu Nketiah yesterday asked Mr Boateng to come back to the party’s Headquarters for the legitimate forms to be given him, as he (Asiedu Nketiah ) is the only one mandated by the party’s laws to issue out Presidential nomination forms.

General Mosquito, as he is called said when Veep Amissah Arthur picked nomination forms on behalf of President John Mahama, that President’s Mahama’s form is the first to be issued out by the party.

“We indicated that the forms must be picked from the General Secretary of the party. Since we announced the guidelines, I’m pleased to inform you that this is the first time any candidate has approached my office to pick nomination forms [referring to President Mahama’s forms]”.

However, speaking on Accra-based Kasapa FM, Mr Boateng stated that he’ll not allow himself to be unfairly disqualified by the party.

“ I want to tell Asiedu Nketiah that I’m coming to the Headquarters Monday to pick up another form if they insist I should do so, I’m committed to unseating President Mahama to salvage Ghanaians out of the difficulties President Mahama’s poor governance has brought on the citizenry”.

Meanwhile, the party has sacked two of its officials who sold out the nomination forms to Mr Boateng.
