NDCs Agenda 50 -50 A Dream Osafo Maafo

New Patriotic Party (NPP) stalwart, Yaw Osafo Maafo has described as a “dream” the National Democratic Congress’ intention to win 50 percent of votes cast in the Eastern region in the 2016 general elections.

According to him, the project dubbed ‘Agenda 50-50’ to split votes equally with the NPP in 2016 will only materialise in their dreams.

Mr. Osafo Maafo made the comment ahead of party flagbearer, Nana Akufo-Addo’s ‘Arise and Build’ tour to the region.

The Eastern region branch of the NDC as part of plans to maximise votes in the region launched the project which they also christened ‘Kyemu pe’ [divide equally].

The ruling party who increased their votes in the 2012 elections in the region is convinced they will be able to garner half of the total valid votes cast in 2016 for a landslide victory for the NDC.

But Osafo Maafo, who is also a former Member of Parliament for Akyem Oda, maintains the Agenda 50-50 is just a figment of the NDC's imagination.

“Those who voted for the NDC especially in the Eastern region have vowed not to repeat their past mistakes so the 50-50 is just a dream” he stressed

The former MP said the NPP’s agenda is to see a massive upsurge in their votes from 57% in 2012 to over 70% in the 2016 elections to enable Nana Akufo-Addo become president.

Mr. Osafo Maafo noted that the hardships Ghanaians are going through under the Mahama-led government has reached breaking point and the country now needs a visionary leader to salvage the situation.

He charged party executives in the Eastern region to work assiduously to ensure victory for the NPP in next year’s poll.

“Ghanaians are crying for the NPP and we cannot afford to disappoint them. Let’s prove to Nana that he is truly a son of the soil by voting massively for him in 2016” he stated.
