Koforidua Shooting: Court Remands Shooter To Prison

The Koforidua Magistrate Court A has remanded 38-year-old Kwabena Osei to prison over a shooting incident that occurred at Koforidua in the Eastern Region.

There were gunshots on Friday, September 4, 2015 at the vicinity resulting in the death of two persons and one person seriously injured.

Kwabena Osei and Opanyin Kwasi Sarfo, 75 years, were arrested by the Regional Police Command in connection with the shooting.

According to Peace FM's Eastern Regional Correspondent, Michael Akrofi, the court presided by Kojoh Dosah remanded Kwabena Osei and he is to reappear before the court on Tuesday, September 22.

The prosecution, Inspector Rejoice Dogbe, narrated to the court the actions by the accused that led to the deaths.

Meanwhile Opanyin Kwasi Safo was today granted bail on reasonable grounds.

He was said to have sought permission from the Police to use guns at a ceremony by Fetish priests where the gunshots occurred.

Though the Police gave a directive for them to use gun powder, the shooter is reported to have used live bullets.
