Winning the 2016 elections would be done with ease; this was a statement made by the Ashanti Regional Chairman for the party, Mr. Bernard Antwi Boasiako. The NPP scribe believes his party has a good chance of winning the impending elections despite the numerous internal catastrophes they have faced so far. In an interview with Peacefmonline.com, the NPP scribe known in political circles as Chairman Wontumi noted that judging from the way Ghanaians voted for candidates with NPP background during the just ended District Assembly Elections, the party forsees the 2016 general elections following a similar path. He further explained that candidates affiliated to the party also won 517 out of 850 electoral areas representing 60.8% in the Eastern Region. Out of 765 electoral areas representing 68.89% in the Brong Ahafo Region, known NPP candidates won 527. He added that 66.37% representing 379 out of the 571 electoral areas in Central Region, 58.64% representing 319 out of the 544 electoral areas in Western Region. In the Greater Accra Region, the party scooped 55.14%. They did this by winning 252 out of the 457 electoral areas in Greater Accra. 42.45% representing 298 out of 702 electoral areas in the Northern Region, he said. In the Volta Region, they managed to get 29.3% representing 194 out of the 662 electoral areas in the region. And also in the Upper East Region they got 120 out of the 348 electoral areas representing 34.48%; and 33.33% in the Upper West Region representing 97 out of the 291 electoral areas in the region.
