(AUDIO) Legal Attempts Being Made To Stop Anas From Publicly Airing Expos - Baako Reveals

The Editor-In-Chief of the New Crusading Guide newspaper has given his take on a latest exposé by ace investigative journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas.

Anas’ expose which took him two years to complete, involves a total of 180 officials of the Judicial Service who are caught on video and audio ostensibly taking bribes and extorting money from litigants.

34 of these officials are Judges of the High Court. The two-year investigative video, titled ‘Ghana in the Eyes of God – Epic of Injustice’ is set to premiere at the Accra International Conference Centre on September 22.

Speaking to Anas' latest investigative piece during a panel discussion on PEACE FM's morning show ‘Kokrokoo’, Kweku Baako explained that “Anas is not out to say that the entire judicial system is corrupt; there are fine clean judges and there is no attempt to scandalize and contaminate the entirety of the judiciary.

Justice bought is the most dangerous commodity on earth…it can kill and destabilize the entire system," he added.

Mr Baako however revealed that indeed there are "attempts to legally stop Anas from premiering or publicly show the video".

The high profile judges include Justice Essel Mensah, Justice Charles Quist, Justice Peter U. Dery of the Human Rights Court and Justice John Ajet-Nassam, a High Court Judge, who freed Alfred Agbesi Woyome in the controversial Gh¢51 million judgment debt scandal. They were videotaped secretly in separate conversations with suspects or persons acting as agents of suspects before them to compromise big cases.

Already many of the implicated judges have applied for an injunction to stop the results of two years of undercover investigation compiled into a documentary from being aired.
