Despite the grievousness of the outcome of Anas Aremeyaw Anas� secret recording of various judges taking bribe to compromise cases before them, one cannot help but burst into laughter at the kind of items some of the judges collected as bribes. Viewing the three hour video, the result of over two years hard work by the ace investigator and award winning journalist, there is a scene when one of the judges caught on tape taking bribe (name withheld for now) could be seen receiving goats and yams as inducement to compromise a case before him. The items were brought to his house by one of the interested parties in the case before him. The judge, who has a big belly, came out to inspect the items. The yams were placed on the stairs of his house while another man held on to the rope that had been tied around the head of a goat. The judge, after inspecting the items, could be seen and heard calling his house help to come and take the yams indoors. Some of the judges, in spite of the fact that they are Article 71 office holders and therefore receive salaries that range between GHC 6000 and GHC 8000 as well as free car, furnished house, fuel allowance and many other allowances, some of the judges were caught on the video taking as low as GHC 1000 and GHC 2000 as bribes. It was just so pathetic but funny as well! More anon
