Tullow Ghana Sends Off 2015-2016 Batch Of TGSS Beneficiaries

Tullow Ghana Limited [TGL] has held an event to send off beneficiaries of the Tullow Group Scholarship Scheme [TGSS] for the 2015-2016 academic year.

Out of a total of seventy-four [74] beneficiaries across the Tullow Group, forty-one [41] are from Ghana.

The event which is held annually to honour Tullow Group Scholars took place in Accra – it was attended by all 41 beneficiaries from Ghana – the Petroleum Minister among other high profiles graced the occasion.

The Scholarship scheme was meant to provide opportunity for brilliant Ghanaians to pursue their post graduate studies at leading universities in the United Kingdom, Ireland and France.

Course to be study by the beneficiaries include - Water and Environmental Engineering, Marine Spatial Planning, Bio-technology and Business Enterprise, Journalism, Law and Corporate Social Responsibility.

Speaking at the event – the Managing Director of Tullow Ghana Limited, Charles Darku noted that – “The support we offer annually to our Ghanaian public through this scheme remains. Out internal training policy also ensures continues development of our employees.

International on-the-job training for our technical team in ongoing in spite of the declining global crude oil prices”
Petroleum Minster, Emmanuel Armah lauded Tullow Ghana for their immense contribution to Ghana’s education sector.

The Tullow Group Scholarship Scheme which started five years ago is managed through a partnership between Tullow Ghana Limited and the British Council in Ghana. The scheme till date has awarded scholarship to 174 Ghanaians – the beneficiaries have all return to support Ghana’s apply their trade.
