NDC Schools Aspirants...

THE EASTERN Regional Executive Committee of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), as part of its strategies to ensure sanity and decorum in the upcoming presidential and parliamentary primaries campaign process, has organised a meeting with all the 81 aspirants who have filed to contest in the 33 constituencies in the region to educate them on the party’s rules and regulations.

The Regional Secretary of the NDC, Mark Oliver- Kevor, at the meeting, said the aim of the meeting was to educate the aspirants and make them sign an undertaking that would compel them to embark on a clean campaign.

The Regional Secretary, Mark Oliver-Kevor, took the aspirants through the election guidelines for peaceful campaign devoid of insults and blackmail. He admitted that the programme was indeed a confidence-building mechanism geared towards the realisation of agenda 50/50.

The Regional Chairman, Bismark Tawiah Boateng, admonished all aspirants to comport themselves and ensure decency in their campaigns.

He advised party executives, MDCEs and aspirants to work together to ensure an incident-free campaign.

He also reiterated the need for aspirants to steer clear of insults in their campaigns since such insults could be used as messages by the opposition NPP.

Mr Antwi Boasiako-Sekyere, the Eastern Regional Minister, also took the opportunity to congratulate all aspirants and advised them to accept the results and rally behind whoever emerged winners in the various constituencies.

Nana Kodua, a member of the council of state, on his part, admonished all party executives to provide a level playing field for all aspirants.

The National Communications Officer, Mr Solomon Nkansah, also congratulated the regional executives for such a wonderful initiative. He spoke at length about party discipline and the need to strengthen the various constituency disciplinary committees. This, he said, would help maintain discipline in the various constituencies.

The meeting was graced by the regional executives; the Regional Minister, Antwi Boasiako-Sekyere and his deputy; Kofi Adams, the National Organiser; Solomon Nkansah, the National Communications Officer; the Deputy National Women’s Organiser; Ambassador D.S. Boateng and constituency executives, among other party dignitaries.
