Unite Now Or Forget 2016- Group Tells Akuffo Addo

It appears Nana Addo, the NPP flagbearer may meet a hostile welcome to the Northern region on his 'Rise and Build' tour because one of the party's quasi groups self-named 'Concerned NPP Members Of Northern Region' has downplayed the relevance of the political tour, saying it cannot win the 2016 elections unless leadership quell the internal acrimony that has bedevilled the party. They suggest the tour is an exercise in emptiness if Nana Addo did not first of all ferret ways to stop the bitter feelings among members of the party. The group is expressing deep worry about the current acrid denunciations and stern public judgements in the party by some members whose actions and inactions they believed have the propensity to keep the party in an endless indefinite opposition. The NPP currently is battling with ideological instability leading to deep cracks, mistrust and attempts of sidelining elected executives. The situation has forced the leader of the party to issued a strong appeal to members to avoid discussing issues of the party through the media. However, in a press statement copied Peacefmonline. com, the group is not happy about what they termed attempts by the party's Council of Elders to cause the suspension of the party National chairman who they accused of being the agent of the party's woes, a claim they distrust. "We are particularly saddened by attempts by the party's council of elders to spearhead the suspension of the party chairman with the view that he is the cause of the party's woes Inasmuch as we doubt this claim we feel his planned suspension if not halted has the potential of further disintegrating the unity of the party" The group says, "We believed this move if indeed is true has not been well thought through and would whip up the tribal sentiment especially when the party has already been tagged an Akan party. This would give ammunition to the ruling party to engage in needless propaganda to their advantage in our quest to wrestle power from them". They called on the council of elders to rather save some energy to finding the missing funds lodged in an ECOBANK account which has stoked a seemingly unending controversy. "The group also wishes to appeal to the council of elders to redirect its efforts towards unearthing the whereabouts of funds lodged in an Ecobank account at Trust Towers which has become a major source of controversy to allow peace to prevail". The group is therefore appealing to all members to ceasefire and rebuilds unflinching confidence in Nana Addo and Chairman Paul Afoko to deliver victory for the party. It promised to hold leadership of party ruthless accountable if through their deeds and misdeeds the 2016 elections are not won by the party. The statement signed by one Salifu Yahuza quizzes why members of the party are allowing their personal egos to override their collective interest.
