LMVC Demo: Investigations Will Be Useless Casely-Hayford

Anti-corruption crusader, Sydney Casely-Hayford has watered down the possible impact of a presidential inquiry into the Police brutalities on demonstrators, who were calling for the creation of a new voters register last Wednesday. The New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential candidate, Nana Akufo-Addo, has challenged President Mahama to set up a team to investigate the matter. However, speaking on the The Big Issue on Saturday, Casely-Hayford said just like previous presidential commission of inquiries, a new one wont yield any possible results. He further described as shameful and disgraceful the violence at the demonstration. According to Sydney Casely-Hayford, government should be ashamed for the development that was witnessed. The protest, initially planned to be a peaceful one, turned violent as the police fired tear gas and whipped some of the protesters for attempting to use unapproved routes. The organizers have since denied the allegations insisting they never diverted their routes. Meanwhile Sydney Casely-Hayford has backed calls for justice to be served to all persons affected by the police brutalities. Some of the participants who were brutalised, including Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko have served notice to sue the police.
