EC Data: NDC Accuse Akufo-Addo Of Mischief

The ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) has fired a salvo at the flagbearer of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) for alleging that they have clandestinely obtained the Electoral Commission’s (EC) datebate for its ongoing biometric registration of its members.

According to the Deputy General Secretary of the NDC, Koku Anyidoho they NPP leader is just being “mischievous” because every political party has access to the EC database.

Nana Akufo-Addo on Tamale-based radio station, Radio Justice during his two-day ‘Rise and Build Tour’ of the Northern Region alleged that the NDC has access to the EC’s database.

According to him, the process used by the NDC in the just ended biometric registration exercise shows that the party has been given access to the voters’ register data base.

This Nana Addo said is enough attestation that the voters register is bloated hence the need for a new one ahead of the 2016 general elections.

But Koku Anyidoho in an interview with Adom News expressed shock at the conduct of the NPP leader

According to him “every political party has access to the voters register both hard copy and on a CD. It is something the EC makes available to all parties”.

“Nana Akufo-Addo is embarrassing himself because he displaying gross ignorance about the electoral process” he stated.

The NDC deputy scribe said the allegation by Nana Akufo-Addo proves he is either playing he is just ignorant about the electoral process.

“If Nana Akufo-Addo is unaware that his party has access to the same information that we have, he should educate himself”

Koku Anyidoho added that the NPP came up with the allegations because it has lost out of the debate for a new voters register.
