I Need Upper East Support To Kick Out NDC Akufo-Addo

The Flag bearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo,has stated that he needs the support of residents of the Upper East Region to bring back the NPP to power as the best alternative government to put the economy of Ghana back on track.

He encouraged the people to have hope because “after one year when the NPP gets power, the NPP government would make things better for the people".

Nana Akufo-Addo made these comments when he addressed teeming supporters and constituency executives of the party in Bolgatanga on Thursday as part of his two-day "Rise and Build Tour"of the Upper East Region.

According to him, the NPP has done it before, during former President Kufuor's regime. He said between 2001 and 2008 the country was put on a sound economic footing, and added that “when the NPP wins power in 2016 it will do even more to improve the lives of the ordinary Ghanaian, particularly those in the three regions of the north.”

"I am not a thief and I am not coming to put my hands into Ghana's money to put in my pocket and enrich my family and myself; I am coming to work for you so that you can have a better life, "Nana Akufo-Addo stressed.

He explained that for those things to happen and to give real hope to Ghanaians, the "economy must be repaired and reconstructed so that everybody, no matter where you are and where you come from, can enjoy the benefits of a flourishing economy".

Dr Kofi Konadu Apraku, for his part, observed that the "destiny of this country is intertwined with your own destiny and for that matter Ghanaians need to vote out the National Democratic Congress and bring in the NPP to transform their lives".

He expressed regret that Ghanaians could no longer afford the basic necessities of life because of the weak economic indices.

"If you want an economy that produces wealth then it is the NPP that can offer you the best alternative government", Dr Apraku emphasised.

He cautioned residents against getting trapped by some politicians who would want to buy their votes.

The NPP National Women’s Organiser, Ms Otiko Afisa Djaba, advised women in the region to carry the message of hope and change to every household.

She pointed out that the energy crisis was affecting the ability of hardworking women in the region to contribute to the income of their respective families.
