Tiger Eye Petitioned CJ And Not Anas - Law Lecturer

Law Lecturer, Mr. Yaw Oppong says he has reason to conclude that ace investigative journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas has the mandate to air the alleged corrupt judges captured in video tapes against any court injunction on him.

Daily Graphic has reported that the ace undercover investigator is playing hard to catch, compelling a lawyer for one of the judges implicated in the judicial scandal to file a motion for substituted service.

Court baliliffs have not been successful in serving Anas and his company, Tiger Eye P I, with court summons contesting the content of the video, plans to air it, the immunity granted him from prosecution and an application seeking hid incarceration.

Counsel for Justice Paul Uuter Dery, one of the High Court judges caught on video allegedly receiving bribe, had, within a week filed three separate applications all aimed at stopping Anas from airing a video showing his client and 33 other judges and magistrates taking bribes to compromise cases before them.

Based on Daily Graphic publication, a law lecturer on Oman Fm’s National Agenda says he finds the suit against Anas confusing as it was Tiger Eye P I company which petitioned President Mahama and the Chief Justice to deal with the video and audio tapes involving some judges and magistrates.

He insisted the ace investigative journalist didn’t petition the Chief Justice and the President and so he cannot be suit singularly with an injunction to stop him from showing the video as he may have been contracted to conduct the investigation.

I don’t see why Anas should be sued in this case to stop him; Tiger Eye team sent the petition to the Chief Justice and not Anas alone as a member of the team. The lawyer should have served Tiger Eye the writ of summons because I believe there are other members forming the company…nothing stops Anas from showing the video”, he stated.
