Don't Malign Opponents Parliamentary Aspirant Advises Supporters

Mr. John Adu Jack, one of the parliamentary aspirants of the National Democratic Congress(NDC) in the Dormaa Central Municipality, has advised his supporters to deliberately his malign opponents in the contest, as he campaigned ahead of the partys parliamentary primary. He expressed his readiness and willingness to go by the regulations and constitution of the party, by refraining from abusive and foul language against any of his contenders. The aspirant warned that he would not under his watch allow his supporters to do likewise, since that could tarnish, embarrass and soil the image of the party in the constituency. Mr. Jack gave the advice when he filed his nomination to contest the parliamentary primary in Dormaa Ahenkro. Prior to filing, he had led a procession of large supporters who wore his t-shirts and some party executives from Antwirifo, a suburb of Dormaa Ahenkro, on a float. His arrival at the party office was also preceded with some skillful displays from motor riders on the road which ran at the frontage of the partys office, aside the pomp and ectasy. Mr. Jack noted that the time was ripe for the party to do a credible assessment of its past performance, strategically consider and present a winnable candidate to defeat the NPP, because the constituency had become one of NPPs strongholds in the Brong Ahafo Region since 2000. I myself will resign from the contest if any of my followers does anything wrong which will cast a slur on the image on the party, he stressed. Mr. Mark Kyeremeh, the Dormaa Central Municipal Secretary of the party, received the forms and warned followers of the candidate to desist from making derogatory remarks on radio against rivalries. Mr Kyeremeh said the party was on the look out to severely penalize and sanction those who went against its rules and regulations, and out of malice castigated and destroyed the hard won reputation of other aspirants. Mr. Kwaku Agyemang, the Constituency Organiser, challenged the contenders to direct their eagerness for change towards wrestling power from the NPP, and not to backbite themselves. He asked the supporters to be worthy ambassadors of the party by sacrificing pettiness for hard work, and channel wisdom and their strength in support of their candidates to enable them annex power from the NPP. Mr. Kwadwo Asare, the Constituency Youth Organiser, added that the partys constitution disallowed the executives to take side or support a particular candidate in the contest, but would offer equal assistance and support required for all the aspirants. He advised the aspirants to use decent language, and work hard at the grassroots, to garner more support for the party.
