Nii Armah Ashitey Donates To Muslim Communities Ahead Of Eid-Al-Adha

The Member of Parliament for Korle Klottey Constituency, Hon. Nii Armah Ashitey has shown a kind gesture to Muslims in the constituency by presenting rice, cooking oil, sheep and cash towards the Islamic Feast of Sacrifice known as Eid-al-Adha which occurs on Thursday 24th September, 2015.

The MP who has consistently supported the Muslims during festivals for the past twelve years embarked on the exercise on Tuesday, 22nd September as he paid a visit to the major mosques within the constituency.

The Central Mosques in Osu, Tudu and Adabraka each received 10 bags of rice, 5 cartons of Frytol a ram and cash.

Other mosques located at Sahara (A and B), Arts Center, Abuja, Osu Police Station and Tema Station also received 8 bags of rice, 4 cartons of Frytol and cash.

The former Greater Accra Regional Minister underscored the importance of the festival as he wished them a happy Eid.

He further urged the Muslim community to offer prayers for President Mahama and his administration for continued peace, stability and development.

“As a nation we need more prayers for Gods peace to reign so therefore I edge my Muslim brothers to take this opportunity to pray for the country to maintain the kind of peace we are enjoying now so that they can also have peace to celebrate their festivals,” the Barrister added.

The atmosphere was filled with joy as the Chief Imam of the Osu Central Mosque, Abdul Rahim Ibrahim received the items on behalf of the Muslim congregation.

The spiritual leader expressed gratitude as he prayed for blessing for the MP to succeed in all his endeavours.

“May God bless and grant you your heart desires for you to keep on doing what you are do, we are hopeful that Allah will be your guide in everything you do,” he added.

It was no different at the Tudu Central Mosque as happiness was registered on the faces of all who were present.

After receiving the items for on behalf of members, the Chairman of the Tudu Central Mosque Committee, Mr. Kamal invited the MP to tour the mosque which was under construction.

Hon. Nii Armah Ashitey pledged to support the project with 10 bags of cement to expedite the building process.

At the Adabraka Central Mosque, the Chief Imam used the opportunity to advise Muslims to celebrate the festival peacefully as they reflect on the significance of the day.
