NVTI Accredit Rlg Training Centers

The National Vocational Training Institute (NVTI) has presented Provisional Accreditation Certificates to some training centres of the Rlg Institute of Technology (RIT) at a brief ceremony in Accra.

www.myradio360.com reports that the centres are those located in the Greater Accra, Northern and Ashanti Regions.
By this, trainees of the institute will have their examinations certified by the NVTI and upon completion of course in two courses, namely Mobile hardware servicing and computer hardware and networking.

The provisional accreditation certificate will expire in 2017 when it would be due for review for possible issuance of a full accreditation.

Earlier this year, the two institutions agreed on an arrangement in which Rlg Institute of Technology graduates were to be certified by the NVTI under an affiliation arrangement.

The arrangement also sought to use ICT to enhance technical and vocational studies in the country.
A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the national vocational certification body and the ICT trainer.
The two institutions have been discussing three levels of certifications; Proficient, Certificate and Diploma which when successfully implemented, could see such trainees gain access to Polytechnic education.

The NVTI is a state institution with the mandate to oversee technical and vocational training and its certification. It is recognised by the United Nation’s International Labour Organisation (ILO) and its certificates are accepted globally under the ILO trade and vocation programmes.

The Rlg Institute of Technology has been in existence since 2002 and has trained thousands of people in ICT related courses at different levels in Ghana, Nigeria and the Gambia, using a state-of-the art training facilities.
The Executive Director of NVTI, Ing. Stephen Amponsah presented the accreditation certificates to the Head of the RIT, Mr Kwaku Nsiah Mensuoh.

“Our checks in the regions show that people really need your service. Our hope is that you work diligently so that you will be in a position to export your services in the very near future”, Ing. Amponsah noted.
Mr Mensuoh on his part said the new certification will propel the institute to give off its best.
