My 'Bush Meat Bribe' Voice Has Been Doctored - DCE

The District Chief Executive (DCE) of Amenfi Central in the Western region has claimed that a tape of him confessing to bribing the Regional Minister, Paul Evans Aidoo with bush meat and foodstuffs for his constituents to be connected to the national electricity grid has been ‘doctored’.

Kwakye Ackah, reacting to the audio in circulation on Adom FM’s Midday News Wednesday, said he believes the tape has been released by his political opponents.

“I don’t know why the tape has emerged at this time when I am going for vetting at Sekondi…the voice has emerged to sabotage me…but it’s not clear and has been doctored…,” he said.

The DCE in a secret tape intercepted by Adom News explained that he has had to provide the Minister with bush meat to help facilitate him getting development projects to his district.

He claimed on the alleged tape that he sends the grilled bush meat and other foodstuff to the residence of the Minister before proceeding to the minister’s office to interact with him.

“We have never had extension of light since Dr. Awuah…do you know how we got the light extension…I wrote a letter to the Regional Minister and when I am going to the Ministers office, I take with me bush meat, either grasscutter and other meats and I take them to his home before going to his office…by the time I get there, the wife would have already told him of what I presented…,” the voice on the tape said.

The DCE maintained that he would react appropriately to the audio if he gets the opportunity to listen to the full tape.
