Veep Joins Muslims To Celebrate Eid-Ul-Adha

Vice President Paa Kwesi Amissah-Arthur has called on parents and guardians to as a matter of urgency guide the youth in the right direction. He said parents must be interested in the activities of their children especially the usage of internet which they are exploring for all manner of fraudulent activities instead of using it for good things. Vice President Amissah-Arthur made the call when he joined hundreds of Alhassunah Muslims to celebrate this years Eid-ul-adha at the Afua Sutherland Childrens Park in Accra. Vice President Amissah Arthur also urged Muslims to exhibit the values and teachings of the Prophet Mohamed by living in peace and harmony with all Ghanaians. He advised Muslims and Christians in the country to see themselves as one people with a common purpose. He also asked Muslims to seek for peace and unity of the country and work hard to accelerate its development. Vice President Amissah-Arthur touched on this years Hajj and advised pilgrims who would in the future want to perform the Hajj to prepare adequately in time to avoid some of the problems that came up this year. He said it was unfortunate that majority of this years pilgrims got stranded and were not able to make it, because the Saudi Embassy decided not to issue visas for those whose application came late. He advised pilgrims who embark on such journeys to adhere to regulations to avoid situations where they get arrested with drugs that are forbidden. He congratulated all Muslims in the country on the occasion of the Eid and pledged governments support in all their deliberations. Sheikh Muniru Abdulai Torqfik, Deputy National Chief Imam of Alhassunah Wal Jamal, also charged parents to pay special attention to the activities of their children. He said they should be observing what the children listen to, what they watch and more especially what they read. Sheikh Torqfik also implored the imams and those who deliver sermons in the mosques to educate the people about the cunning enemy who pretend to be one of them but are not. He charged the youth to wake up and be aware of what is happening around them, especially the activities Boko Haram, Alshabab, ISIS and other Muslim insurgents who fight Islam and Muslims at large. He urged Ghanaians to be grateful to Allah for the peace and security the country is enjoying, adding: We must all be agents for peace and security and not agents for spreading misunderstanding or confusion.
