Anas Expose Will Drive Investors Away Titus Glover

Member of Parliament for Tema East, Daniel Nii Kwartei Titus-Glover has said that the latest piece by ace investigative journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas capturing some judges allegedly taking bribes will weaken investor confidence in the country.

He said a credible legal system is key to attracting investors and Ghana has had a stelar repution until the Anas video blew the lid on what was going on.

The impact of investor activity is evident in every sphere of the Ghanaian society, and a sudden departure or reduction would have a major impact, he believes.

“How can investors who are financing a country through development continue investing when they are aware of the rot in the country? In fact, they will stop financing because that confidence in trusting in our leaders will have vanished” he stated on Adom FM’s Dwaso Nsem’ morning show Monday.

34 lower and high court judges have allegedly been captured in a video accepting bribe to influence their judgments.

A five member committee headed by Supreme Court Judge, Sophia Adinyira which has been constituted by the Chief Justice to establish the truth, has currently suspended sitting following some cases pending in court in relation to the matter.

In the meantime, Mr. Titus Glover has called for the prosecution of the indicted judges if they are found culpable.

“Anas really needs our support at this stage so that judges who have been indicted can be prosecuted because they are not above the law” he said.

Meanwhile an Accra High Court will on Tuesday rule on an injunction application brought against the judicial committee of inquiry investigating the bribery allegations by 14 magistrates captured in the incriminating video.
